Click here to listen to the show. teZa documents the sacred in the ordinary; she is a writer, artist, and yogi. Her first book is the verse 'n' vision manifesto: We Are ONE. Her focus is on uplifting others out of darkness; "Love is the weapon of mass illumination," is her motto. In her second book, which was just published a month ago, "In the I: Easing through Life-Storms", teZa Lord has chronicled her personal journey of transformation for decades with art and words. Now her work includes publishing nonfiction books that depict the sacred in the ordinary. Beginning as a student of expanded perception, her passions have centered on studying the evolution of human consciousness. After completing her studies she exhibited and taught metals body-art. Then her line-images documented relationship between people and the natural world. First through botanical illustration, specializing in South American plant research (in affiliation with Harvard University), then painting and sculpting mixed-media compositions. Her exhibited work was called "visionary" and her, a "naturalist." Years of world adventure as an itinerant artist followed, including stints in film production in the US and the Caribbean; inter-island shipping from Dominica in the West Indies; a restaurant in the Virgin Islands; a jeweler, studio painter and sculptor in Israel and England. Back in the States, Lord was a furniture maker in New York City; a garden designer using living materials, stone, and water in East Hampton, NY and Sarasota, Florida. After marrying, Lord nurtured a blended family with her husband. During that era Lord switched from gallery-exhibiting object-art to being a storytelling-author who arts. Currently, along with publishing, she hosts yoga chanting and meditation gatherings; and, as a spiritual activist, speaks about compassionate consciousness whenever asked.
