Dr. Diane Corcoran is the President of IANDS and Lilia is a volunteer member of IANDS’ Conference Committee and has previously served on IANDS’ Military NDE committee. The International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) is an educational nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, which focuses most of its resources into providing the highest quality information available about NDE-related subjects. It is the only such membership group in the world. In addition to maintaining their information-rich website, IANDS publishes a peer-reviewed scholarly journal and a member magazine, sponsors conferences and other programs, works with the media, and encourages the formation of regional discussion and support groups. IANDS’ purpose is to promote responsible, multi-disciplinary exploration of near-death and similar experiences, their effects on people’s lives, and their implications for beliefs about life, death, and human purpose. They remain impartial and open to the presentation of varying points of view; however, while all personal beliefs will be respected, IANDS never supports proselytizing. Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) and other Spiritually Transformative Experiences (STEs) often initiate profound changes in the experiencer’s consciousness and life direction. This includes increased spiritual awareness resulting in positive change within their lives based on altruistic values and priorities. They act with loving compassion building a greater sense of unity with all people. Collectively the experiencers and research findings provide them the information needed for a cross-cultural revolution toward Love and consciousness-based living, and a possible change in humanity at this time in history.
